The Best Adventure Travel Destinations

What was your last vacation like? Were you amused? Did you find excitement? Was there some leisure too or did your last vacation consist of shuttling your family around, doing yard work and other chores? Was your last "vacation" essentially a "staycation"? Why not do something different this year? Next time you have a few days off, why not test one of the local adventure travels. Even if you don't go outside your home state there are tons of adventures to be had. If you are just dying to spend your money, why not pamper yourself with a true adventure? Here are some of the adventure travels that have become incredibly popular. Palawan hotels is a must if you want to spend time with the family.

If you enjoy being outside and using your survival skills to live off the land, why not try an Australian Walkabout? These have gained popularity since one of the main characters form the television show Lost attempted to go on one. The thought for an Australian Walkabout is that you and your adventure pals go out into the Australian Outback with a guide. While you are on your walkabout, you live entirely off the land. You hunt for and gather your own food, make your own shelter from any materials you can find and experience the "elements" that could come your way (weather, animals, etc). It is similar to extreme camping and can give you a natural high. Is sightseeing a preferred activity? Do you get a thrill from exploring sites you have only read about in books? Why not go on a sightseeing adventure travel to a destination you have always dreamed of going to? Highly favored tourist destinations include Greece, Rome, Ireland and Scotland, Africa, China and Tibet. Obviously there are sightseeing tours in just about every country in the world, so just decide where you want to go and sign up for a touring trip! Let someone guide you through your chosen country's culture and history.

Take a Llama Trek! Everybody has gone horseback riding. If you want a great adventure travel without having to leave the United States, try the Hurricane Creek Llama Treks in Oregon. When you take one of these treks you will camp out--you're responsible for bringing your own gear (as well as setting it up and taking it down) as well as for packing and unpacking your llama bags. These types of adventure travels are great because they let you choose--you can either ride your llama or walk the trails yourself and lead the llama with you. When else over the course of your life will you be able to say that you've gone llama riding?

Adventure travels are not always about doing something death defying. You can have a perfectly adventurous vacation without bungee jumping, sky diving or hoping that a shark won't bite through a cage. Meanwhile, that is only half the excitement of any adventure-based vacation, for an adrenaline addict.

The trick to taking a real adventurous journey is to put yourself up to a challenge and still have a terrific time. Go for it!
